Holy Cow!!: California’s Grant High School offensive line

Grant-line

Now, I’m not much into sports talk unless it’s sunday BUT this was an amazing find.

Not only do I feel bad for the cafteria worker’s who have to feed these kids on a daily basis but the visiting team they meet every weekend. Grant High School’s offensive line has the LARGEST size players in the state of California. This includes other high schools, colleges and some pro teams. Grant’s front five brings a hefty 1,560 pounds to the table, roughly the size of your average Holstein dairy cow!!! Not only does “Where’s the beef?” come to mind but I also think about the dangling cow’s I see on the Atlanta freeways saying “Eat more Chickin’!”

If you’re curious of the sizes, here is how the Grant boys stack up:

Senior left guard Shawn Matautia is the biggest of the bunch at 6-foot-4, 400 pounds. He’s followed by junior left tackle Darrin Paulo (6-6, 320), sophomore right tackle Soape Tupou (6-4, 300) and senior center Errick Dennis (6-3, 300).

I could never imagine ANY high school teams to break through this line…at all! I would literally run off the field or fake an injury just like off of the movie “Grown Ups” in the finale basketball scene. But, these boys aren’t shabby either since they have rising underclassmen who’s weight is not that far behind. I can see the NFL putting in some early bids for these boys, because we need it!
